Ok well a few days ago some lady from an apartment complex calls the store (Sherwin-Williams) and orders some paint. Now usually we deliver to them but there is a 10 gal minimum for deliveries. Especially for them, they are a 1.5 hour round trip. Well she ordered 4 gallons of parking lot striping paint and never said anything about delivering it. But for some reason I could tell she thought we would. We have told them many times that there is a 10 gal minimum. Well I mixed it and today she calls back and asks if her order was ever delivered. I told her that she never said she wanted it delivered and there was a 10 gallon minimum, or a $50 delivery charge.

This is where she got me.

"Well how much did I get?"
"You ordered 2 gallons of yellow and two gallons of blue."
"AND THATS NOT 10 GALLONS?!?!?"
"Umm... *moves phone from face* JENNY WHATS 2 PLUS 2? *pause*
No ma'am thats 4 gallons."

"....."
"Hello?"
"Let me talk to the painter and see if he will pick it up and Ill call you back."
*click*

There were customers in the store who could tell what was going on and they were rolling at this stupid bitch.

The conversation was actually more than that. I had to tell her atleast 4 times that she had 4 gallons and I had to explain to her a few times that she had 2 gallons of yellow, and two of blue. And she still did not understand.

Maybe she misunderstood and thought you needed 10 gallons before you'll deliver?

I dunno. Some folks can be pretty dense sometimes.

Yeah, there had to be some misunderstanding on her behalf.

If she was that slow, she wouldn't have been able to figure out how to call your store or make those noises you call words.

I really dont see how she could have misunderstood me though. I told her she ordered 4 gallons, and there was a ten gallon minimum for deliveries. And she did not understand why we wouldn't deliver it.

Some guy came in today and got two gallons of some industrial paint that retails for $67 a gallon, and some tape. When I rang him up and told him $9x.xx. He flipped out and was asking me how much that stuff cost. When i told him $37 he was like "Well I dont get much of a discount do I, you might as well sell it to me at full price!!" So then I told him it was $67 a gallon retail and he shut up. lol

my favorite was this guy came in and wanted some concrete stain. i sold him some zylene based stain and he put it in his trunk. this was in the middle of the summer. he came back a few hours latter saying that his car reeked of solvent. he stormed inside and started cussing at me telling me that i didnt hammer the lid down and the paint was all over the trunk of jaguar. the lid blew off. i made him feel like a real dumbass when i walked out there and pointed out to him that there was paint on the top of the trunk and had to explain to him that if the lid wasnt on tight it wouldnt be all over the top of the trunk.

We would have paid for that.

A while back some kid picked up some Industrial Enamel, basically the god of all oil based paints, and instead of putting it in the back of the truck he put it on the seat.

Well when he stopped it fell on the floor and busted open. And guess who had to pay for it. Us.

i went out to his car when he came back and took the carpet out of the trunk and cleaned it for him. i was able to calm him down and gave him a gallon of zylene and a box of rags but he had to pay for another gallon. it was a lesson learned. believe it or not his trunk came spotless. he came back and bought more paint for something else later.
