I was hanging out on my back porch last wednesday for the first time this year wearing sweats and a t-shirt with sandals... I was out there for about an hour, not realizing I was being eaten alive on my feet.. The next morning I noticed about 30 mosquito bites on EACH foot...No big deal, a little itchy.... By friday my lymph nodes behind my ears are swollen and sore( I didn't know you had any there till they started sticking out of my head) and my neck is SUPER sore, along with a nasty fever and general fatigue and soreness... Well, I felt better saturday, so I went out Saturday night and got RIDICULOUSLY drunk....oops.... Well Of course all day sunday I had a terrible headache and a very very sore neck... This continued on monday... With how drunk I was, I could believe a two day hangover...
Well, I went to work today and it still felt like my brain was swelling, literally... I could barely climb a ladder or do anything and all I wanted to do was sleep... I mentioned getting tested for mono, and somehow got talking about my mosquito bites when my boss mentioned west nile.. I looked up the symptoms on my phone and I had EVERY SINGLE ONE, except a rash, which I discovered about two hours later... I went to the doctor after work and they confirmed my suspicions... Its big enough news to make the front page of the newspaper on thursday. I haven't developed meningitus yet, so I should pull through this one just fine, we hope.. There are no treatments because it is a virus, but the good news is that I will now be immune...
That's just wrong....
