It's no bear, but I still have to replace a few parts. I was running about 70, changed the radio station and looked up to see a large dog running across the road. He was already too close for me to avoid him. I hit the brakes pretty hard and decided to try to go around him and ended up nailing him, right on the front driver's side. It pushed that side of my bumper cover way in, past the fog light, but I got it to pop back out. You really can't tell anything happened except that for now I only have one fog light in the car.
All I really tore up was the fog light bracket, but I think the one on my 98 parts car is the same. I thought the car fared well considering he went all they way under the car. I knocked the **** out of him.

That sucks! Did you kill it?

One time I had some crazy **** happen with a dog running out in front of me. I was riding through a neighborhood going slightly faster than I should have been when this small dog runs out. I had like 1 second to react, smashed the brakes but it didn't matter ... I just thought "he's effed!"... I heard a slight thump and look in the rear view and the dog was just walking fast. I still to this day don't know how the dog pulled that off. It must have ducked or somethin' but it was insane!!

Yeah I killed the **** out of it! He went all the way under the car.

Well, the 98 doesn't have the fog light bracket I need because it doesn't have fog lights (v6), and I also found out that part of the bumper cover is broke. It's where the fog light bracket bolts to the bumper cover on the top, the inside most mounting screw for the bracket, the tab of the bumper that bolts to is broke. I can get the fog light bracket easily though as I have a source that has 100+ late model mustangs and every little piddly replacement part you could ever want, he's only about a half hour away.

I think I can just replace the fog light bracket and I think it will be alright with just the mounting screw on the bottom and only one at the top.

Dang, you seem pretty heartless about killing the dog. Most people kill dogs and are all types of emotionally distraught for a couple of days. You on the other hand come here and post about "knocking the **** out of it" lol

Meh...I guess it was his time to go lol.

You did the right thing by not swerving though. A lot of people freak out and end up killing themselves in a freak accident instead of the animal :( :nonono:

Well I did feel bad for the dog (I love dogs), but I was just pissed about hurting my car. On the other hand, I'm kinda hyped up at how little damage it did considering its size and my speed.

Those 2 comments came at a time when I was hyped up at only replacing one part.
