I have a 1998 V6 Mustang.

Lately [As of the last month or so] it's been almost hick-uping.
I'll be going a set speed [Usually 40+] and once I let off the gas, or give it less gas, it'll kinda jerk, sometimes just once, sometimes a few times. To stop it, I usually give it more gas, and it normally just stops. I have no idea what it is. A friend of mine said it might be the Vaccuum line, and it just might need to be tightened.
Sadly, I only grasp the basic concept of a combustable engine, so... can someone please spread their knowledge?

Any speculation would be nice.
And if this is something that if I keep driving I'll mess up my car, please tell me.

Thanks in advance.

check for codes

visually inspect all vacuum lines, wires and connectors, air inlet tubing, etc.

if no codes and all look good, the best way is to dupllicate the problem with a scanner (not a reader) hooked up to capture sensor data when it happens.

When was the last time you changed your plug wires? A similar thing happened to my wifes '98 and almost $3000.00 later and a rebuilt transmission we found out it was just the friggin wires! Good luck.

I would try new plugs and wires first and make sure all the vacume lines are good and no cracks.
