I cant belive this, somebody else just blew theres a couple of days ago and now i just did. I rompt on it in first gear wound it out, nailed second and BOOM!! there goes the rear!!!! I think it is funny to have that much power to blow a rear, besides the fact that its going to cost to put a new one in!

Well 8.8 or 9" hear we come!! :D

I hope if eighter go for me its the c4, then i would be forced to replace it with a toploader. yay! allthough my friend has a car running low 11's with a c4, so i doubt that will go first for me.
What ever breaks first is obviously the weakest link and will be replaced first.

Reading your sig, you are lucky to have gotten any use from it!

Do you figure your T5 will hold up? What does the 'Z' mean?
Hopefully "Zuper strong"! ;)

Dave

I hope my t5 will hold for a while (probobly not with my luck). the Z stands for Ford Racing. Its an aftermarket t5 with 330 ft/lbs of torq.

My engine should be putting anywhere from 300-400 hp ( nice and brod so nobody can say i am wrong) so i knew I was pushiing the limit with the 8". I think what did it was because i had a full load of people and with that much weight teh tires have that much more traction. Glad i brok it now instead of at teh strip this summer with slicks.

So what is the most i should pay for a housing that would fit in my car. I can get a center section realy ez. Its the housing that is going to be hard to find. If i cant find one. How expensive is it to have a housing narrowed to a 65 66 mustang width. Thanks guys

Well I pulled it apart. All i can say is wow. It broke the 3rd member housing, and it also sheard the limited slip carrier in half. So i dont think the limited slip is even worh salvaging. Unless i can put the limited slip in a new carier. I will post a pic as soon as i get one. Itskinda cool, im going to clean the parts up and set them up like a trophy. O yeah the ring and pinion are still in good shape it looks like too.

here is some pics

Yeah i was able to locate the # this morning. He laughed when i asked if he had a 9" housing for a 65 66 mustang. He said i aint never ganna find one of them. He does have housing that can be narrowed for 100 bucks though. I live in corvallis right now. I am going to Oregon State, so i am only like a half hour from him.

oh, sweet.

there is RS mustang supply in one of the towns south of salem. I will see if I can find the number.

he has about 20 or 30 mustangs, mostly 65-66. you might get lucky.

I just called him 5 minutes ago too. He said the same thing. Probobly my best luck is to find one to narrow. What ishte best housings to narrow. I have read alot about the 9" but nothing that says anything about the best housings to narrow.

Thanks for your help
