kinda curious here-if you noticed NO improvement with a 5 lug swap-what parts did you use?
I'm betting Lincoln/Ranger rotors,.....there would be no difference. They're the same as what he had on it before. And,....That's the only way there'd be no difference.

I think that aerospace kit will be the route I go!
Then be sure to talk to him about their 2 piston "sliding" caliper, instead of the 4 piston piece pictured. Otherwise, the tires will sit 3/4" wider than they do presently, and look fckd up as a rats' ass. (I used the 2 piston version on the 95mm turbo car I last built)

Yeah, kinda what I was thinkin'...

used sn95 front everything and aerostar axles and drums.

If you used SN95 front and noticed no difference at all, then there's probably something wrong-did you actually measure out stopping distance, or are you just going off "feel"? Besides, if you're still using rear drums, just what all are you expecting to achieve? The fronts do about 70% of your braking, but they can't do it all by themselves...

feel..i did the conversion so i had more rim options..not for brakeing.. i drive my car very hard and stop very hard and i know my car well. So i know for a fact that it doesnt make a difference.

did you use dual piston pbrs? i mean my 89 and my 93 stop like a wet dog compared to my 00gt which would stop on a dime so im just a little curious.. did you use the right booster and master as well..?

Just a thought-I also don't know if you changed rim/tire size, therefore weight and rotational mass. If you put on bigger diameter rims, bigger brakes are needed to shed off the rotational mass of the larger wheels along with the weight of the vehicle. Not that I doubt you "know your car" but realistically, unless you mark it off and stop from a measured reference point and given speed, you can't truly know. You might've dropped your 60-0 distance by 15 ft and unless you marked it off or you religiously drive the same exact routine every single day, there's a good chance you won't detect it.

That being said, if you used the factory master cylinder, and didn't properly configure the proportioning valve and install an adjustable valve for the rear bias, it would make perfect sense that you didn't get full advantage from the SN95s. Also, the 99-up calipers were better...I think that's what toolow was asking.

if you go to the thread "how your fox currently sits" my car is on the most recent page. i have bullitts. im pretty sure you would be able to know if you stop 15 feet shorter. What you wouldn't notice is if you stop a foot shorter, wich you would have to measure to be sure.

yes tx stang that was part of my question because the dual piston Set up right should stop on a a dime and send people through the windshield
