Got any pics? Compared to your set-up, we are only talking about an extra 5mm of tire on either side of the rim, and you get a little more sidewall which helps. I still think theyll fit, and look good.

People put 275s on 17x8s and they look great, this isnt quite that dramatic but there is less sidewall...

Have you measured the inner lip width of the 295s compared to the rim?

sorry no pics but everyone who has looked at my set up likes it, have never heard anyone say it looks bad or has a buldge. in fact I am looking for the other size of nitto DR's in 18, the 285 size again. was going to do 305 but that would have been a bit much.

i have nitto 315's on 10.5 rims. Guessing by the stock rim width i would say 295 is really pushing it but it should be 'safe'. That being said i would not do it as your tires are going to bubble out some and that will detract from looks...and even moreso cornering is going to put stress on your tires and stretch them side to side. I forget the term for this but it henders performance none-the-less.

If you can id send them back for some 275's. If you ordered them online from discounttire direct i would see if your local discount tire can return them on their truck rather than have to pay shipping back.

I just measured and it looks like the 295's are 1 1/2 inches wider compared to the 265's. Right around 11 inches on the inner part if I measured right.

They also mount them on 9 inch rears

also, Nitto 315 = BFG 285... nittos are skinny tires..

Roush puts 295 BFGs on the back of 9 inch wide rims, 03 Cobra owners put 315 Nittos on the back of 9 inch rims...

I think you would be okay.. Im going to throw on 285s on the back of my 18x9..

ok I can not find the new nitto DR 285x35x18 anywhere so I might have to go with the 305x35x18, to much for a 18x9 rim?

Tire width depends on the brand. I put the 315/35/17 Nitto Drags on my stock 17x9 rims and Discount that installed them said they were perfectly fine. Now a BFG 315 is a different story those are hella wide.

No rubbing and just a little buldge and they look great. But the performance is where they really shine. I don't have to much problems with launching like I used to. But I can still light em up nicely

I would not go 295's on a 9". Here are my 295/35/18's on 18x9.5" Cobra R's. I wouldn't say they are bulging, but I wouldn't go any bigger on a 9.5 either. And I sure wouldn't put them on a 9".

That's what I've been hearing too. Do you know this (Nitto 315 = BFG 285) for a fact though? Im looking at the widest dr's for my 18x9.5's and it's between Nitto 305/35/18 dr's and Bfg 295/35/18 dr's. So, the Bfg's will be wider??

They might be a little bit wider than the Nittos but they should fit that rim nicely

BrightBlue, do you think 1/4 inch on each side would make that big of a difference? I'll find out, if there is a problem I can just sell them.

BTW nice car, I love that bright atlantic blue.

Yea, I do for the 295's. With a 9" I MIGHT go 285, but probably would stick with 275's.

Thanks

I have the same tires as you Blue (Pilot Sports) with 275s on 9s. Theres definately room for more... look at the top of the rim in this picture.... they are flush with the rim.

I really dont see that by me going 1 cm wider on either side of the rim (to 295s), it would ever look bad.

Same here. My 285's fit just fine on a 18x9. I would have to think that 295's should fit without any major problems.
