For this discussion, I will say that yours has matured. I don't generally think it's a good idea for folks to shoot for the numbers. If the account is around for a while, participates, and gets positive responses to threads and posts in a predetermined ratio, then it just happens. It doesn't take long either.

In most cases, the user doesn't even realize that anything happens.

You should just know that as your accounts do mature, that you might just notice that you can do things that you couldn't before or just maybe forums begin to appear that you don't recall seeing before.

I highly suggest that you keep your eyes open on your surroundings. LoL There are some VERY mature account owners on this forum that have access to areas that they have probably never noticed. lol

I get PMs about strange things like that. You should always look carefully at the door-sized built-ins.

I had been on facebook since it was, the facebook and only available to colleges in Massachusetts. Back when you still needed a computer and a .edu address to access. It was all the rage and was legitimately cool, because of its exclusivity. It maintained its coolness until the rapid growth of social media platforms and access in the palm of you hand with the onset of smartphones. Now it is an electronically ever growing social organism that has grown far beyond what it was initially intended for. IMO I don't think even Zuckerturd, as brilliant as he is, completely understands what is. Watch him in front of the Senate. Both sides have no clue. Two years ago I deleted my original account, it still used my .edu email address as a username, even though that email no longer existed. As someone who had been plugged into it from the beginning, I can honestly say that not having it in my life as a social outlet has improved my mental health.

Unfortunately due to the deterioration of ebay and craigslist I've had to create a ghost account for marketplace. I will say as frustrating as the users on the platform are. It is superior to craigslist. More frequent listings, and cheaper too. It cant be annoying trying to sell, but you'll get low balled everywhere.

Lol yeah Craig’s was creepy bc it was the blind not knowing who you were communicating with, meet ups hoping this unknown person is who they claim and you aren’t gonna end up in some weird predicament. FB as did Craig’s has the low ballers for sure. I usually post stuff for what I feel is a decent offer, then add some bc I put obo knowing that offer will get knocked down and hope it hits where I wanted. Say im thinking 60 bucks I’ll say 70/75 obo. Then I get the usual whats your best offer? Wtf? Or I’ll get the what’s the lowest you will take? To which I say idk make an offer, least I can do is say no. That usually gets rid of the the cheapskates or they come back with an ok offer. Then there is always they dip that just comes in hot with a post at 75 obo and asks will you take 30!!! Lol I guess I try and low ball as well but maybe 10-15 off the asking.

Haha, that’s my automatic response “make an offer”, every time someone comes in with what’s the lowest you’ll go bs

Post counts not on my radar, good to know the other regarding the Easter eggs hiding in the brush.

It's not just post count. There's a ratio between about half a dozen things.

Back in the 80's I worked in the printer room for a defense contractor. We had tons of impact printers. For open house someone had written a report that sounded like simple recognizable songs like Mary Had a Little Lamb when they printed.

That noise was my house when I was kid.

My dad had two of these things and one of them had 4 print heads and the size of a small bu full-sized refrigerator. What is the number 1 use for teletype hobbyist users? Why printing a hard copy of all of those lines of code you used to generate... whatever. It turns out that dialing up and downloading the latest (to the hour) local phone book listing off of your user group's BBS was a hoot as well (a copy for the house, one of the truck...).

I barely noticed though. I was living at Kaneohe Marine Corps Air Station where supersonic flybys were still able to make themselves known.

I was working in one of the remote sites that I had to open every hour for 15 minutes and this debt collector ke lo t calling for one of my coworkers. How he got the number fir the remote site I'll never know. There was no caller ID and I started getting pissed that this jackass kept calling. So when he called for the third time in as many hours, I politely told him to hold on, I'd get him. I put the receiver in the impact printer, started up a huge printing job, and left for 45 minutes. I came back to a dead line and he never called back.
