I know its not a mustang but..

Drove my brothers new Camaro this afternoon. Black with the Orange interior in 2SS trim. While I know this is a mustang site that car was alot of fun to drive. Real quick and easy to control the power in the thing even in "competition mode". Took me 30 minutes stop smiling after the drive. All the complaints about the vision in the car are a little overdone. Not hard to see out of the back but thats really because you need to really be paying attention to the road ahead of you. fun car.

Vettes have competition mode too, it's kind of stupid but damn when you drop the hammer in a vette it's a very strange feeling, it pulls hard but doesn't feel very torquey(spell check). Idk I assume the camaros are the same

That mode saved my ass once and I was only 24. I had just bough a 99 FRC Vette and was racing it for the first time. Well theofficials said I had to wear a helmat and I had never worn one on the strip so I was a little.... off. Wasnt used to everything being so muffled.
I put the car in Competitive driving mode and did my burnout. I got a beautiful launch and got a solid chirp going into second. I power shifted third and didnt hear the tires breaking loose. The car cocked itself almost 90* instantly and I was looking out my windshield at the WS6 I was racing drivers door. I freaked but the car didnt and I saw some light flash and the display said something and all the sudden the car was facing the way it was supposed to. I coasted through the lights and still pulled a 14.1, then cleaned my shorts. I almost lost $50,000 so I didnt race anymore that night. :rlaugh:

People in Maui talked about that for years, thought I had excellent car controll to have saved that and not even fully get out of my lane. :rlaugh:

All i know is it drove great and its nice to drive a car with a lot of power and the engineering to keep it manageable. Every muscle car I've ever owned has been between 20 and 40 years old so nothing but power to wheels and basic suspension to hold it together. I'll have to try to get a chance to drive some other new cars to see.

Ss2 is v8.
Ss is v8 or sometimes v6?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Either way it's ridiculous

they should have stuck with
SS
Z28
RS

or gone back to the old days
now the edition doesn't mean anything

Shuts down the traction controll and lets you get more sideways before the stability controll kicks in.

Apperantly Mustangs just stay in "competition mode" then?

Oh I can hear it now, when we spank a new Camaro they will make the excuse that they forgot to put it in competition mode. They had a hard enough time trying to figure out how to push that button to turn off the tracton control... now they are going to give it something complicated sounding like "competition mode"??? That will split thier mullet.

No. Older Stangs never had stability controll. If it started to slide and you dont know how to drive then it just keeps sliding.

And I have already heard the excuses from a couple Vette owners about their TC being on and thats the only reason I beat them. :rlaugh: Wasnt the fact that I had 150+ more HP :nonono:

Shouldnt be that hard for them, just press the button for 5 seconds..... they can count to 5 right? :rlaugh:
