Aahh! I need a sleeve! I overbored my 302 a couple thou. (literly) and now if I go to hone, my piston to wall will to much! I need a sleeve, 4" bore, stock 302 block. Summit and Jegs don't have 'em! Where O where will I get one?
Please dont say a local machine shop. :bang: Help!

you are better off getting another block and then machining. i am unsure of anybody that makes a sleeve for a 302. i have put many in chevys. the only reason is that big block chevys and 4 bolt main small chevys are getting a bit hard to find. a good 5.0 block can be found easily.

Well, I would overbore to 0.040, but I'm on a serious time-frame. I'm keeping this block, and somebody surly must sell sleeves...You know it's no big deal to sleeve a cyl. I just need to find a place that sells one for an iron block..

im sorry to say it....but your best bet is to find a machine shop in your town. but more than likely you wont be able to get one until tuesday at the earliest. try federal mogul and clevitte to see if you can get one. but being that its saturday im positive you wont be able to get one by monday. good luck

In all honesty, you'd more than likely need to have a machine shop install the sleeve anyway, since you have to take the bore out a good bit, and then have the sleeve pressed in, and bored to the correct size from there. Pressing the sleeve in would probably cause a little distortion that would need correction, even if it was the stock bore.
