Ok, so I guess I'll start off with the car first...
Its a 1993 Mustang Cobra... mods are as follows:
Ported GT-40 heads, Powerdyne Supercharger (9 psi), Crane Cam, 80mm Pro-M mass air, 30 lb injectors, custum chip, engine rebuilt with good components and some more stuff. Well anyways, its going to put over 450 hp to the wheels once I put all together, and my clutch needs to be replaced. Any suggestions on a good clutch? I am also trying to find an aluminum flywheel for it.

Yep go with the Spec III but dont' expect your stock trans to last long if you bang them gears...

You might want to look into stepping up the injector...maybe 42lb...

Im still running the stock T5 trans. It is also going to get torn down and inspected for any signs of wear. I dont plan on racing it to much, so I think the trans wont be replaced, atleast not anytime soon.

Seems like I am going to go with the stage III. Any recommendations on where to buy them cheap?

Try www.jdsperformance.com I know they sell the Spec 1's cheap...so I'm sure it is the same for the Spec III compared to the same product on different sites or places...

Power doesn't neccesarily hurt your tranny (liking going WOT)...but when you start getting traction in the first couple gears and getting a hard hitting clutch that disengages and engages the way the Spec III does...that will eventually kill it...

Shift slow and that will help the life...no power shifts...or hitting the gears hard and quick...

5sp, the first paragraph is pretty accurate - the second one i respectfully disagree with. the SPEC clutch is very abrupt; power shifting and things you mention in the latter paragraph have to do with the trans itself, not the clutch. i think you might have meant to include (to tie it all together) that slow engagement of the clutch will help with the drivetrain. that sounds more accurate.

toss slicks on there, and all bets are off.

Yeah...that is what I meant...shifting slow by being easy on the engagement...not how quick his hand is moving...I should have clarified...

I run a Zoom in my 88 and a McLeod in my 96. I think they are both great clutches, pedal effort is minimal and they can both can take some abuse.

A spec III grabbs really hard. It's closer to an on/off switch than regular clutches. I think a spec II would be better for that, and it will hold the power easily. About two months after installing it killed the T-5. Of course powershifting is a dialy thing to me.

How good are Centerforce clutches? a friend of mine can get me a Centerforce stage II for $200 (pressure plate, disc, and ToB) What do you guys think about that? Good enough of a product?

Engine Might have to get a Dart block but don't want to and if I do, then 363 instead of 331. Thoughts on what I've already bought so far.......
