Im connecting a LC-1 wideband sensor to my car and Im looking for a switched 12V source in my ECU.

I was told that pin #71 is the one to go for.

I know where the ECU wiring is located (kick panel). I already have it opened, but how do I know where pin #71 is? Do I unplug ECU? How do I unplug it? or does anyone know the color for a 12V switched source that can pinpoint?

I have not done this b4. How do I look for this cable/pin?

TIA!

No, if its just a gauge then you dont connect it to any pins in teh ECU.If all you need is power when the key is ON then you can splice into a sensor thats on the VERY front part of the engine like close to the valve cover...its a greyish colour. We tapped my electric waterpump into one of the (2...one on each side) sensor things and well it works fin...and I know a wideband 02 sensor will not pull the amps the WP will. Ill see if I can get a pic of it for you.

Here is the pic. We spliced into the otherone on the drivers side...the RED wire. Thats just a connector and shortly after it dead ends into a black sensor...so we spliced into the side after the connector thats closer to the wiring harness...not the side closer to the sensor.

Its the same thing on the drivers side...splice into it on either side of the connector...it will be the same outcome...and it only comes on when the key is ON....not ACC. Hope that helps.

Thanks guys, I'll try those out. Hotmustang331, I really appreciate your time and effort with the pic. I'll give it a try.

Trout as Give Me TP suggested head over to that website. They have the LC-1 for $199. I think is a great deal, if you take some time off to install it. Its a pain in the neck when things go wrong.
