if its clean and solid, 5k is a decent price. I wouldnt pay to dollar for an auto if you're going to convert it, there's plenty of manuals out there

It is a nice car but 5k and then another 1k to convert over to a manual, and that is before you find anything wrong with it or upgrade items.

I would offer maybe 4k for it or keep looking.

There is someone selling a MINT 79 Hatch for $3500 in my area. I would wait until you find a deal like that. I bought my POS 89 Vert for $1,200 with 130K miles. I love the car but I wish I saved up and bought a better one. Spent too much money on it now and don't feel like trading or selling.

If you want a stick, just wait for a good one with a stick. Why pay that money then hassle with the swap?

How do you "Chew someone down"?
or
Are we being politically correct, and non-racist by not trying to "Jew someone down"?

OH Yeah,.....and I got EVERY SINGLE thing to do the 5 speed swap just sitting here,......waiting,....for the right person.

I see it as a $4K car really. A/C delete hurts value a bit, and would really need to see it in person to assess.

I converted my car to a 5-spd. Not a huge deal really as I know i have a nice new clutch and new T-5 in it.

I say buy it. Build up the auto and throw a turbo on it! Could make a nice sleeper. If it all checks out I think 5k isn't a "crazy" amount for that car. 4k would be more reasonable though
