Hey guys and dolls

I've got a 1997 Cobra. The front drivers side wheel bearing is squealing and I need to replace that entire hub-thing I was told, so I got one from NAPA. My quesiton is, how the hell do you get that dark grey/black nut shaped thing from off of the nut itself, or do you just put the socket on there and go for it? Also, does anyone know the size off the top of their head? I need to go get a socket for it. I know it's over 1 inch, but not sure how big. any and all help would be appreciated!

cheers

That is a bear to get off. It is speced at 250 some odd foot pounds of torque, so prepare for lost of swearing, sweating, and jumping on the breaker bar. Putting it back on is just as fun...

I have the nut at home somewhere, and I'll see if I can't find it and tell you what size it is.
