Well my friend/cousin is a ricer in a 95 Mustang. His car is nice and everything but he keeps on making up stories about his so called "300 hp stock 5.0 that had eight O2 sensors but was modified to have only two"... I still don't get it but anyway... he goes up to strangers (with fox body 'stangs) and starts telling them that they are in the mid 16's because he beat one once with his car (which runs 14.75 with perfect conditions). I mean what the hell? Who does this sort of thing? He has so much to prove it isn't funny.
I raced him one night at the track (no times, friday night street racing) and I kept him at my door the whole way but I only shifted at around 4,000rpm due to my finished tires (wires hanging out in the back) and my tired engine (almost no oil pressure). But he told everyone, behind my back that he beat me by 10 cars and that fox bodies are junk. But to my face he claims to have missed a lot of shifts.
But if I could do something to give her a little more life like 3:73 gears just so I can run him at least once and kick his butt. I won't tell him about the gears, I just want to shut him up... I know I'm doing a ricer-ish thing but it's the only way to shut him up. You can't knock any sense into this guy, before he found out he couldn't do better than 14.75 he told everyone his car would be in the mid 13's and whatnot. If I could do a low 14 second time like a 14.3 or something with a "stock" fox body, he will shut the hell up. I have to do this because he's about to get a real life beating by a group of guys. I don't want him to get hurt because of his mental problems and I'm 100% sure if he looses in a race to a stock fox body, he won't talk anymore.
So do gears really make that much of a difference? I'm sure I'd be in the high 14's with mine as it is. I got some okay tires in the back now so at least I'll be able to give it some more gas.

Just take out the spare tire, and wire up some Nitrous and hide the tank back where the spare tire used to go.

I'll try and get the 3:73's on there this week
