I am having a hard time making up my mind on what to do to tune my car. I was going to get a SCT Xcalibrator 2 or a Tweecer RT. I then I called Krazy Koncepts and they can hook me up with a dyno tune and Diablosports Revolution chip. I do not know what I I should do so I need some direction.

My car is in my sig

It all comes down to what you are planning to do to the car in the future. If you have a whole host of mods planned, then get a wide band kit and some sort of tuning system that can datalog. This way, you can tune and retune on your own, after new mods. If these are the last of your mods, then have KK burn you a chip. This way, you shell out less money, because you won't need future adjustability. Since you are an OBDII car, a nice compromise may be a custom Predator tune, which you can flash through your hand-held programmer (if you buy one). This way, if anything fails in the future, you have datalog capability. You won't get that with just a chip. KK should be able to work up a custom tune for you, to use with the programmer.

I ran the Tweecer RT for a long time. Really easy to use. As long sa you have a wideband its the way to go. Only thing is most dont know how to use it. Fastest uploads plus you get 4 settings, not including your stock pcm setting. Ran it on my 93 with the Steeda 18 cam, ported head/intake, YS trim, Lightning mass air, 42 lb injs. Really alot of fun to use. You can data log too up to 30mins or so. You just have to know what you're doing. Not saying I did.

Well whats your plans? Turbo? Supercharger? I would love to go DFI on my car, but I just had Jon & Paul at KK burn me a diablosport chip. I can always dyno/reflash it if I add more mods. They are the only guys I let work on my car!! My vote is for dem!!!

From what I have read, the X-Cal 2 also datalogs and will connect to your computer so you can send the logs to someone via the internet and even get a custom tune via e-mail that you can load into your car. I have not read much on the Predator, but I have talked to a few people who have used both and say the X-Cal 2 is the only way to go. You could probably even get a 4-bank SCT chip and a switch to go between tunes if needed.

I need to save money so I can start beefing up my car

The only thing I have planned in the future is a Nitrous kit. Do I need a retune to add a nitrous kit and do I need a multisetting chip or tuner to adjust for this. I was planing to get the Zex wet nitrous kit.

I'd just talk to KK. Have them order & install the kit. That way they can tune it for you. You might not even need a chip, but its nice to have one.

On my car (in sig) I had #30 injectors and an FMU and it ran real rich at idle and drivability was not the best. After I took out the FMU and went with #42's and a chip my A/F was perfect at idle and it drives so much better. It made 455rwhp with 11psi at only 17 degrees of total timing doing 5-6 back to back runs. There is more in it, but I want to keep my stock block intact. hehehe.

Yeah, FMU's are notoriously gay. Welcome to the world of better driveability!

You will want multiple tunes if you have a nitrous car. You won't want to see what happens when you spray nitrous on the tune meant for engine only... Good luck!

So I am leaning towards the X-cal 2, but a few more questions about it. Are the tunes on it caned tunes, whipped up on a computer and sent out with the unit. Or do I need to go in and have it tuned on the dyno? How does the Live Link work to get tunes via e-mail? Has anyone had any porblems getting the new tunes onto thier cars?

Most places that sell Xcal2's will include a tune on it, based upon the mods you tell them you have. While this is a good starting point, it is often not quite dead on. Having said that, I would highly recommend a little bit of dyno time to tweak the tune they give you. You are lucky, in that you don't have a ton of mods. If you buy an Xcal2 with a tune already on it for your car, you might have better luck then some people with more heavily modified cars.
Though I have not personally used an Xcal2, several of my good friends have. Both have had excellent luck downloading and using tunes from various companies.
