I.R.S. in '67 Complete!

I have to say, I'm doing a 66 vert next year and I was already convinced on the front since I'm going with a DOHC, however the rear has just been confirmed!!! Nice work :nice:

I'm going to attempt to run a 5 speed automatic

Well, it's about to go to the blaster to go down to bare metal (everywhere). Haven't decided what color to paint it yet.

It's a 4 valve!

I beg your pardon sir, it is indeed a 4, what was I thinking. BOH!

Also, I was wondering what was going on with the paint, you have nice exterior paint and crappy looking engine bay. What colour will it be? I hope you go with the silver. Then again, I don't really care what you go with, I'll probably like it, and the main thing is that you like it.

If you read what he is posting you would know better.

Haven't decided on the color yet, but it'll probably turn out being red with white stripes.

It looks the way it does because it was in decent "driver" condition when I got it. I like to do every last bit of cutting, welding, etc. before the car gets painted so all that beautiful paint work doesn't get ruined -- it's just a straight assembly job at that point.

As soon as a few more small details are taken care of, the car's going back down to a fully disassembled unibody. Then it'll get plastic media blasted inside, outside, upside down. Then to the paint shop. Therefore, the engine compartment, undercarriage, etc. will be fully detailed in the end.

Cool!

I definitely agree about that. It does require fitting everything twice, but can only have two of the quality, time, and money trio, and quality is definitely one of the things I'd have of the two.

Where, in this thread, before I said it was a 2V did he say it was a 4v? If it is there I'll be laughing, because I can't see it.

First the Avatar should answer it ontop of the obvious 4V motor in the pic you called a 2V. Second... "posting" is plural meaning beyond this thread. With so many posts you must have read some others.

I'll leave it at that, not worth ruining an otherwise productive/educational thread highlighting a really nice build. :nice:

Back to biz...

Here's another pic of the IRS that may clarify a few things:

And now the car's off at the paint shop. Here's a cool pic from the plastic media blaster. There were no surprises -- she's as solid and original as they come! (Yes, I put the old 4-lug/leaf setup back under there for blast & paint)
