I was trying to install my MGW shifter and it's not the right one. The shifter is a 3650 and I have a TKO 500 transmission. I asked on here what the 95 cobra R transmission was (the one I have) and someone said it was the 3550 but its not. Now my car is all apart till I get another one

That's odd... I always thought the 95 Rs had a 3550. Plus, I don't think Tremec even had the TKO 500 back then. Someone correct me if I'm wrong!

That's what I was thinking but the bolt pattern for the shifter plate is 6 bolts not 4 like the 3550

Maybe they sent you the wrong shifter.

The shifter is for the 3650 and only has 4 bolts that go into the transmission and mine needs 6

Ok... the 3550 has 6 bolt holes, the 3650 has 4. Why'd you order the one for a 3650?

I called tremec and they said it was the TKO 500. I ordered the one for 3650 because that is the one I thought I had. On the summit web site they do not say what it is just that it is from the cobra R. Mine has the red top on it.

A 95 cobra R does NOT have a tko-500. The 500/600's weren't even out then!

well what is it? FMS-M-7003-R58W That is the number of the summit web site

The 95 Cobra Rs had 3550 trannies. The picture on the Summit Website has less of a taper on the last shifter bolts, it looks like a a new TKO 500/600

In any case, you have the wrong shifter. If it was a 3550/TKO(original) MGW doesn't make a shifter for you... if it is the TKO500/600 which it is from the look of the picture, you need to order that one off of MGW. Just return yours!
The error is on SummitRacing... they say it's the Cobra R tranny, when it's not.

On the bright side, the TKO500 is better than the actual Cobra R tranny.

I've actually got the stock WC T5 ...
I get to poke around on friend's cars with Tremecs, they kick ass. I'll get one when I can afford it.
