It's too bad to see Hack Job go, but the price was right and I can always build another notchback. I always said if I can get what I want out of it, I'll sell it. It is not anybody local so I will not ever see it.

I have had my eye on 03-04 Cobra's since they were new. I wanted a one or two owner, low mileage car. Stock if possible, but depending on mileage, mods would be acceptable.

I found a 2004 Mustang Cobra coupe with 5,400 miles on it. I drove this thing back on Friday. The ride home was scary, but it cleared up enough about 50 miles into the trip. It was 60* here Saturday and the snow melted pretty good so I washed it in the driveway for hours.

I will have to wait til summer to see what it really has in it. Right now, being wet and cold, it just breaks loose. I did get it to 110MPH just staying in 6th gear. No need to downshift to pass people. It makes 18 pounds of boost and put down just under 600RWHP. All the stuff on it was installed and tuned by the same shop I take my Cobra too and I got all receipts, paperwork, window sticker, and a few other things with it. The only thing I am doing to it is putting on some drag radials, which I already have, and buying a short throw handle. It has a Hurst shot throw, but the stock handle, so it's way too tall.

*grabs paper bag to breathe into*

hack job was a beautiful ride, but you'll always have the skill to transform another one at any time... congrats on the cobra, Matt, i've always wanted one myself, unfortunately the closest i'll ever get to one is the seats i have in my coupe :rlaugh:

Chris :nice:

Well, sure didnt see that comming. No Fox at all now, huh. :(

Moving on, GREAT FIND!! 5400 miles AND a Whipple!  :hail2: Dare I ask how much?

Welcome to teh club! How did ya like the drive home other then the bad weather? Takes bumps nice dont it? Love the way they handle on ruff roads too.
Has good power mods now its time to work on teh chasis and suspension :nice:
BTW, if it dosent have one get an IRS brace ASAP. You load the rear at all in a corner and it flexes enough to cause the rear to leak :notnice: Also get the PCV oil filter kit, these things suck ALOT of oil into the intake and coat the screw and the intercooler :notice:
And if you are gonna get a new shifter then get the MGW, I promis you will not be dissapointed :nice:

I sold Hack Job a few weeks ago. I got a phone call about it and I almost said I didn't want to sell it, but the guy was super interested and he kept calling me, so I figured eff it, give him directions and see if he shows up. :D

Thanks for welcoming me to the club. I absolutely love the way the car handles and drives. You don't feel the "duh-dum" feeling and sound when going over bumps. The IRS dampens the "duh-dum" feeling and it's smooth like a Cadillac. If had some wheel hop but it was like 30 something degress and wet. It still has the stock F1's so I just hope that it won't be too bad once the Nitto's go on there. I have looked at the braces, and a couple of small sets of poly bushings, but I am not gonna make that decision til spring. Even the front suspension seems night and day difference from my 96 Cobra. I just replaced all the front suspension on my Cobra too, and there is no comparison. The MGW is a badass shifter, I just put one in the 96. The Hurst feels great too, but I can't fully compare the two shifters in each car since the stock handle is in place. 3rd gear almost touches the radio. I don't like that. I let my Dad drive it around after work Saturday and he said he hated that too.

To all of the other members who posted up...THANK YOU. The car is Torch Red, not competition orange. Competition orange is a sweet color though. I didn't care what color I found really. Black or red were the top picks. Sonice blue, comp orange and yellow would have been a top pick too, but they are RARE and the ones I found had 30-50K on them. I was NOT considering Metallic Red Fire, Silver, or White. Not my style. I have 54K on my 96 and there is no way I would replace my 96 with an 04 with the same mileage. I have always wanted one, and I am happy I found one in such good condition.

Another HUGE plus was the car being worked on at the same shop my 96 goes to. All receipts, windows already tinted, exhaust already done, and he gave me a California car cover with it, a couple extra original parts, a belt, the owners manual and a couple of neat laminated information booklets. I also got an Xcaliber handheld tuner with it that he never used. I'm not messing with my tuners tune, so I'm gonna off that. At least that will help me recoupe a few bucks I guess.:D
