I Still Got It!

It's only an inch or two. What's the big deal?

I had to relocate my mounting tab on my overflow reservoir after installing contour fans.. I haven't welded aluminum in YEARS. Well my buddy let me borrow his miller synchrowave, what a sweet machine! @84Ttop

I gotta get one of those for the shop!

Now all I gotta do is not let hoopty's coyote put it on me..LOL.

I got him by about 100hp, so it should be a slam dunk.. SHOULD be.

I like to take poop and shine it up until it's well shiny poop..... then attach it to my car. Then find more poop and repeat.

It gets messy.

I watched a budget turbo 331 fox DESTROY a camaro a guy had 100k in. My favorite! It's what inspired me to go turbo. I loved fast and cheap!

I almost wish I would have gone turbo, lots of options out there. I see turbo diesel motors in the jy all the time. I'm working on a low buck d16z6 vitara build for a friend's civic. Can't decide on turbo or sc..... 28# from a m90 on a 1.6 sounds like trouble. Lol

I tried he is a Honda guy, nothing wrong with it we both like cars just different flavors I suppose.

My point was 6 psi on 4 cylinders amounts to squat. Especially with parasitic loss from a blower. This is why Hondas haul a$$ with a turbo and 30 psi... not 6..lol

Math....... 26.25x (SC displacement)x (pulley ratio)= xxxxx ÷ (Cid of engine) - 14.7= final psi at manifold.
(26.25x90x2.7)=6378.75÷306=20.85-14.7=6.15 (my psi)

The 1.6l d16z6
26.25x90x1.9=4488.75÷98=45.8-14.7=31.1 psi at manifold.
At a 1.9 drive ratio the m90 is in its peak efficiency range on his 1.6 at 31psi 7500 rpm redline
My 2.7 drive ratio is over driven already, I only see 6psi with it. 6000 rpm redline.
We can spin it even harder at "the wall" the m90 will "make" 55 psi on his 1.6!!! But that all theoretical belt slip will keep it under 25# most likely. Max boost at 1800 rpm up on that little 1.6......:jester:

But you have to remember one little detail..

how much initial hp and tq does that m90 require to be driven? A 1.6 stock makes about 120hp... seewhereimgoingwiththis?

It's still a cool concept, but GM tried a sc on the cobalt ss and quickly dumped it for a turbo...

I like blowers, you just have to have umph to drive them.
