I just bought a computer from the junk yard with bps sensor mass air flow and o2 sensors to use on my fuel injection swap. i am using a painless wiring kit for an 88-93 ford mustang i have everything all plugged in and ready to go but the mass air flow meter doesnt fit the plug on my harness. the computer is not an a9l it is an 8ld. will this computer work? can the maf be repinned? i really wanna hear this thing run. The donor car for the comp and sensors said 06/88 for a date calibration code was 8-2IP-R10

i just looked up the computer on ford fuel injection and it says its a california computer im not running an egr is that gonna be a problem? 8Ld doesnt come up when i do a search here.

that was an odd year for maf. hook yp the computer and try to start it. it should still start with the maf unplugged. if all is good there just clip a maf plug from another car and splice it in.

i hooked the computer up and it started first pull. but ran extremely rough. then i spliced in the maf and it ran better it started and idled up then started to idle down and smooth out. and like i have said before this motor is in a tube chassis when the motor idled down and smoothed out i could fell a bump in the chassis it felt like maybe it was missin on one cylinder. does the bps need to be mounted straight up and down? or can it lay flat?

thanks

check the surging idle checklist. It will go over any reason you might have a miss or a hiccup and how to set the base idle. this will cover the tps. its in the tech sticky at the top of the forum.
