I just put my new can and heads on my 302. I put the cam back in the way I took it out. I dot was on top of the cam gear and the dot was on the top of the crank gear. I was told if I put it back in the way I take it out without turning the motor over it would be fine. Once I took the heads off I realize now that it was at top dead center on #1 but the dots were on opposite sides. Am I going to have to pull it all back apart again and put the dots on top of each other. I thought 12 and 6 meant have the top one at 12 o'clock and the bottom one at 6 oclock with the keyway up. Just like if it was a clock.
