Not sure what a 289 weighs, the SHO sits in at about 385lbs with all accesories. This I do know, and that is the potential of the SHO engine is VERY high. My turbo SHO makes 430whp with STOCK head/cams/block/rods/crank with a small single T3/4 @ ONLY 13PSI. There are a number of SHO's in the 500whp range now, and my next dyno should have me in the neighborhood of 550whp, on pump gas, @ only 17-18psi. These littel gems are bullet proof, and can make some serious HP.
Sounds like a cool project. If you have any questions about TC'ing the SHO, feel free to ask.
