hey i pulled the plug/spout and set the timing between 8-9 deg....to match my wifes car to save gas, but i feel like i have no power....her car has power....i have it idling right below 800 rpm....is there anything i can do to restore power without increasing the timing...?????

You did put it at 8-9 (stock is 10*) advance and not retarded?

You did use the correct part of the timing pointer?

I noticed for quick referance there is a notch in my block (both my stock and DSS blocks) and my stock dizzy that when they are lined up it is REALLY close to 10* if not 10*. Are those two lines lined up (or just off since your running 9*)?

94gts, don't get me wrong i love my stang.....but because my supervisor won't transfer me closer to where i live i have to drive 40 mile round trip to and from work, not including any extra....so i'm trying to be able to save alittle on gas....i was getting 200 miles to a tank, but i was having fuel ratio problems and studdering problems until i had driven it around 1 mile so i timed it around 14* and i couldn't keep the rpms above 500 rpms and it wanted to surge to the point of stalling out, so i went and had it diagnosed....i found out it was both of my o2 sensors, so i timed it down to match my wifes car, but seem to be lacking power...so should i try and time it to 10* ?????

I get 190 miles to a tank on mine. Mine seems to have a couple issues still. And 120k mile stock o2's can't be helping.

I drive mine pretty hard also. I like summer...I get to ride my cbr600 :) way faster than the mustang and gets 45mpg.
