Over the years, I've seen some swear by it. I've also seen some say it did not work for them, lol.

Sorry, I know you did not want to hear that but ...... I did read that stuff!

I've also seen some peeps say they drilled a hole in their throttle body blade to achieve a steady idle. I do wanna make it clear that I am NOT recommending that procedure.

I must be missing something. SN IAC's have an air-bleed screw, dont they? Foxes dont, which is why those are sold.

FWIW, those dont help more than they do - they can be had for like 10 bucks used from someone who got one and it did not work.

I am thinking I misunderstood or did not look at the part good enough.

I don't think you are missing anything JT.

These boards or even the tuner boards................the elusive steady idle has always been one of the most popular topics of discussion.

Even though you point out the facts, I've seen peeps use those things to try and obtain a steady idle. The fact that it doesn't cost too much to try it is most likely another reason so many have looked to it for the fix.

Thank you, ol' wise one.
I did not realize that the bleeder on the IAC was not sufficient (I have not played with mine yet). Or perhaps it becomes insufficient for you kids with your wild combos.

I should have prefaced what was said in my first post that those bypass plates dont often work for foxes, mild or wild. Really a hit or miss type of thing.

You are right - it is a cheap thing to try. Some Ford dealers still sell the plates too. They are around 20 bucks, even at the dealer, from what people have reported. Resto houses (LRS) might sell them too (I just tried to look, but they are down for a bit, it seems).

Thanks for setting me straight Grady.

That is the thing about drivability issues that is so frustrating.

Just like JT talked about...Hit or Miss

Something that worked for one guy will have no effect for another guy and sometimes the difference between the two combos is very little or even none.

If you mean will it bolt up,, yes, I believe it will.
Have you adjusted the one on your TB all the way out, and it still isn't enough?
The one on mine was, but it's an aftermarket TB....

My buddy in highschool did this to his 92 FOX... he was running a F cam and said that this was a popular fix for idle issues. I don't know too much, but I do know that you shouldn't be drilling holes in your TB. But damn me if it didn't work.

Hey Adam

Lets get real here and talk about how it really is for those who drilled a hole in their tb blade and it did not work.

I dont get it our TBs have an Idle bypass in them stock. I used to raise or lower my idle with it before the tweecer. It can raise or lower ur idle by like 400rpm or so, but it will give you killer hanging rpms.

No, that IAC valve won't work b/c it mounts pointing to the right, and ours points to the left.

that idle bleed set screw built into the TB's doesn't do jack for me if the IAC is unplugged, only when the IAC is plugged in.

I'm currently working on getting a decent idle...mine is OK for a bit, but then will start hunting a bit unless I blip it. Also, I'm having a problem now and then with the car stalling when pressing the clutch and coming to a stop. I've pulled my TB and IAC and cleaned them both along with all orifaces. I'm going to check into getting one of these next week and trying it.
