That's why you use a soft one under the waterproof stuff and strap them.I've seen cars for sale that had car covers ruin the paint. I reckon the covers were loose and flapping in the wind. The constant rubbing of the cover flapping in the breeze left marks in the paint that could only be fixed by respraying.

I worked in downtown Detroit and in the early 2000s someone smashed the side window of my 1995 F150 to get the CD player, but when they saw it was a cassette unit, left probably in disgust. I know they got in to pull it from the dash because the rearview mirror was tilted. Ha, there were some greenbacks in the visor pocket if they had explored a little but apparently did not want to linger.Anything to deter is better than nothing. I live in a tiny town in NW PA. We don't even have a flashing red stop light. A month or so ago some pos thought he deserved my neighbors g-body Monte Carlo SS more than my neighbor did. Amazing thing. I told wife I was going to have to move the motorhome out to put the Mustang in the back yard, then block it in with the motorhome. She just said, "Why don't you just leave it in the garage?" I was sure she did not want to monkey with snow covered car in the winter, but wow, this is awesome. You bet I will be diligently cleaning off her car every time it snows. Mustang sits in garage, on rubber mat, wheels cocked, and clubbed. I should also pursue the excellent idea for the kill switch that was posted earlier.Yeah, put the wife's car outside for winter. If it is stolen, good riddance. Can always get another used minivan anyway. Ha ha, car on stands or blocks, the city is likely to tell me I have to haul it away or make it operable. Wish I had my brother's garage. He had an 800 square foot garage and a 600 sq ft house. True gearhead.
Concrete pad is the best option and I would still lay a rubber matt under it.. I wonder if a rubber mat directly on the lawn would work.

He would tell me some crazy stories like when they changed their oil they would pull over the sewer drain to dump it lolWhere I grew up [NYC] they stole anything and by the time you discovered your loss it was already either shipped overseas, chopped up for parts at the local yards, or sitting on cinder blocks on a Bronx side street - completely gutted shell.
