Is there a decoder online for the tags that are on the seats? I have a set of high back bucket seat in my 67 that I bought when I was in high school 16 years ago off of a neighbor. I don't remember the year of the seats. I have a tag off of the seat bottom, but it is hard to decipher the numbers. I know they are 69 or 70 seats and I believe they are Mach1's due to the upholstery pattern. They do not have an accent stripe on them they are all black. The seat-back adjuster latch to lay the seat forward is on the back of the seats. I will get pictures tonight and try and post the numbers on the tag I found.
I am asking because I want to get new upholstery to match the 67 colors to put on these seats. I like the look and feel of the high backs.

in 69 the high back seats had the seat back release mid way up on the seat back and in 70 it was down very low about even with the seat bottom cushion.

Try mustanghut.com. They might have a decoder there for seats. That's where I found the data plate decoder from the door of my 66.

Here are pictures of the seat. I think they may be 71's?
The numbers on the seat tag are as follows:

D2ZB6563100AC
VMGR
231 000 2AD

Anybody got any ideas?

To expand on NasaGT's reply
On all ford part numbers the first two characters are the year:

First character = decade
C = 60s
D = 70s
E = 80s
etc

second character = given year
C9.... = 69
D1.... = 71
D2.... = 72
E4.... = 84
