Along the same lines as Reds Valve Lash Question but I am puttin in my cam tommorow and without degreeing it (I dont have a dial indicator or know how) how can I put it in and have it pretty close to where it needs to be. Walk me through real quick so I dont F anything up...Thanks...
Bring the number 1 cyl to TDC (all the way up), the groove on the crank should be up. Now slide the timing chain on with the mark on the cam gear facing down towards the mark on the crank. Hence "dot to dot". Just make sure they are aligned properly and your good to go.
I am putting in the new Trickflow package 350/370.....overall a nice setup, has the stage one cam...no fly cutting which I like, and It came pretty complete I only had to get a few things from autozone......I get the "ttt" now...Thanks
I'd turn the motor over two complete revolutions to make sure the dots are still "dot-to-dot". They can look lined up sometimes and then when you turn it over, your off my a tooth or something.
