If one were to do a cobra swap there are definitely other things that need to be upgraded in the car. being that i am not really a suspension guru i would imagine the stock rear suspension would blow apart amongst other things

the only things that need to be swapped out would be the rear suspension, wiring harness, computer, fuel pump/system, transmission and obviously the engine..it would also be wise to upgrade brakes too

are there other minor things that ive forgotten?

im throwing out a lot of idea in what i want to do to my car over the next four years being that i have a little time to do so (before i have to go off to class that is )

there have been a few posts here and there in herre regarding this type of swap and ive picked up bits of info, but im trying to culminate all of those questions in here...if ive missed a thread regarding exactly this please link me to it

i would think that your rear end would hold up. i mean the 8.8's hold up in stock trim for a long time to the abuse the 302 through at them. When it finally does give up then all you need to do is add a 31 spline carrier and axles.

i would love to have a KB cobra engine in my 86. Peeps wouldn't know what hit em. kinda a sleeper after all they would just think its another 302 car.

Thats what im looking for in my 98GT, people see it and say "oh he has a old weak non PI 4.6 he doesnt have sh**" and then after they get their doors blown off, they wonder what motor I do have under my hood. The 96 to 98GT's make great sleeper cars.

Hmmmm, thats going to be my only problem with mine, my Comp 278XE cams are HUGE (the bigges comp has for the 4.6) and is listed as haveing a very rough idle. Mabye I can tell people I have a severe exhaust leak.
