I talked to ARP on 1/3 and was told that they have revised their torque specs for ARP head studs. ARP told me that they now recommend 80ft lb (up from 65/70)using their moly lub and 90ft lb with oil for the 7/16" studs. I spoke with different 3 reps and was told the same thing. This goes for aluminum heads as well. I was told that this occurred within about 1 week or so ago. Anyone else heard this? If you are currently installing parts with their products, I'd call them.

Have there been problems with the bolts/studs?

I agree that 10-15 lbs/ft is going to kill the engine, but I'm just curious as why they would say that.

Mainly because I just put ARP head bolts on my car...

I was told that they have newer testing machines that supposedly is more accurate and that the prior numbers were conservative.

Yeah it's probably not to significant of a change but I just wanted to inform folks because torque specs probably have changed for other bolts studs etc. And if they are in the process of installing ARP products they may want to call them to see if things have changed.
