Well I have plans for a turbo stang pushing over 500rwhp. I have the engine at home a 357 built/turbo, heads, the WHOLE BIT.

Now before I dive into the coupe I want to make sure that it's what I want. I have never felt a 'love connection' with the coupe although it looks great. It's white on grey with chrome ponys. Before I put all my work and everything into it I have a feeling that it's not a good idea. I have a feeling I would like the sn95 a lot better because it's not as boxy. It's 5lug already and it's got way better brakes than the fox body, interior is 10 times better than the fox's, and better handling.

Only thing I can see about the sn95 is the ECU which I've heard people are 50/50 on that.

Is there anything else I should consider about each vehicle. I don't drag race much but I would like to find out which car would be better before I dump my money/work into it.

I don't drag race all the tiem just to see what the car has. 85% driven on the street and it's NOT a daily driver.

...help...

Parts for the fox are cheaper but I love the way the sn95s look. We do have better suspension and a better frame (i.e. there is not as much body flex) as you mentioned we have the 5 lugs already. The interior is better looking in the sn95. Fox's are lighter than us tho not by a huge margin but lighter none the less. The computers we have really suck but for what your doing no matter what you get you are going to have to tune the hell out of it anyway so that’s not really an issue. Go for the sn95 they look better IMO. Good luck.

fox vs sn95

Well I had an 88 5.0 5 speed and now have a 94 5 speed. Having siad that, I think its really which you like better body style wise. There are advantages and disadvantages to both. As far as the eec, I would think with that radical of a motor, you will need to mod the puter in either. With the coupe I would want to update the brakes and change over to 5 lug for sure, so you have that expense to consider too.The fox would probably be faster, but the sn95 alot more enjoyable to drive. Plus in my mind a fast sn95 is alot cooler than a fast fox. There are just tooo many foxes for my taste. So personally I would build the sn95, but that is just my opinion. :D

I loved my 92'. The thing about my 95 COBRA is that it's IMO better looking, and more comfortable, than the 92' was. My 92 was more fun though. If it's not a daily driver and you don't care about comfort then do the 87-93. If I got another car it'd most likely be a 87-93 Notch over an Sn95.

well the old fox ecu can be put in an sn95 with a different harness from painless. like others said as well, youll probably have to tune both anyways. and with a 347 turbo motor, i dont think a couple hundred pounds would make you feel a difference.

that being said, its entirely up to you which sounds like its goin in the sn95

The fox pcm is no better than the 94-95

The 94-95 pcm is no worse than the fox

The truth is that they are different and require different methods of tuning

Bottom Line is

You can learn enough to tune yourseslf

OR

There are plenty of others who can tune

Fox or 94-95 pcm can be made to do what you want

I have never owned a Fox...Ones in my plans for the future though...I just like the look...Im not really a coupe fan myself...
I have a SN95 and I gotta say...I like it...decisions, decisions.... :( If I were to do it again..I would hunt down a Cobra for sure....
Depends on your cash flow to...Do you have the money to plink down on a decent SN95??? You or I wouldn't wanna be buying some roach...then your probs are gonna start....The coupe you have sounds like its pretty decent as is...
I would love to open the garage and have this staring me down....Ahhh, someday... :D

Good luck choosing....

Well I would be buying a decent SN95, all black on black, 5 speed, in really good condition. I wouldn't get a Cobra for the very reason I wouldn't want to ruin one with my plans, 357w turbo. I'll leave the Cobras to the Cobra enthusiasts. SN95 is looking better and better.

How difficult is the 351w swap into the SN95 from a regular Fox body transplant? I'll be searching...

Thanks

i had a 90 4 cylinder and then got my 95 GT Conv. If I still had the 90 I would have dropped an 8 cylinder in it and made it strickly track because it's so light. On the street the 95 is better cuz most people think that the 5.0 didn't come in the SN95s at all and think there all 4.6s just cuz they didn't say 5.0 on the side. Be a great sleeper :nice:

good thought on the Cobra...no sense wrecking one....

This is a members Blk GT...just think...you could put those 347 badges on the side.... :D This outta sway you some....Choose your weapon... :bang:

That black sn95 looks friggin HOT, hatch looks great too.

That SN95 is about what I want but on those 2k Cobra rims, Kenny Brown has some that have been powder coated like a black chrome(looks like a light gun metal), I'll have mine coated that color(fox or sn95).

I like the side exhaust too... too many decisions but it looks like I might sell my notch. :(

I'm very happy with my 95 and it is very tight with no squeaks, rattles, wind noise and such.

I have many friends with fox bodys and all of them are kinda loosy goosy and flex around quite a bit when you drive them. Squeaks & rattles are present even on smooth roads.

However

The Fox Coupe just looks Nasty-Wicked-Mean to me

I bought an 89 new and then traded it in for a new 1994 Cobra. The biggest difference was that the 94 was a much more solid car. I now have 210000 on it and it still feels solid compared to many other cars that I drive from time to time. I guess it all depends upon what you want the car to do but I would never invest money in a Fox unless it was only for 1/4 mile racing.
The SN95 chassis was a huge improvement.

Well look, by your post you obviously like the SN95 better so you should go with it. About weight, dont worry about it. Youll have a 357 and a turbo shoving that car around! Get the car you want and do what you want with it. There is no reason not to.
