Ignition Amplifiers

Does anyone know anything about ignition amplifiers, what kind would be applied to a 2000 3.8L, or have one installed that they could give a testimonial on. I've been checking them out as a possible modification but am kinda skeptical about what I'm looking for. I've heard good things but at the same time I'm not looking for any kind of "ground shattering" HP gains.

Just a simple bolt-on that I've been contemplating.

Testimonial, huh... Here it comes... Waste o' money, imo. The Jacobs DIS box I bought wound up toasting my coil pack up so I not only had to pay $300+ for the ignition, but a new coilpack as well. I truly never saw any noticeable gains in power or mpg. Just way too expensive for what you get. My coil pack could have been on its way out for all I know. There really is no telling, but what I do know is it went completely out with the DIS box. The only time I can see it being remotely beneficial is if you are making some serious FI power and want to guarantee complete combustion of your a/f mixture. It is definitely not a beginning or even intermediate level mod, but that's just one guy's testimony.
