To give a little back story. Some jack wagon attempted to steal my 88 Mustang GT today. They drilled the cylinder out but in the process destroyed the well (see attached pictures). What is the best way to fix this? All guidance is greatly appreciated.
You have a damaged steering column lock cylinder housing, they are farely hard to replace because of the tilt mechanism. It may be easier to replace the column. I can look tomorrow, I have a couple in storage, to see exactly how difficult it would be.
Pay attention to cruise vs non cruise column. There is a slight difference. On the cars with cruise control, there are three "fingers" that contact the horn plate. On the non-cruise columns, the middle one is deleted. I'm sure you could swap parts from your column as well.
