what would cause the ignition module to keep failing? my 1993 notchback started displaying the characteristic signs of a faulty ignition module (bogged hard and sputtered at 3500 rpms and the tachometer would fly all across the board, and it started only doing it when engine was hot progressively got worse and started acting this way all the time) so I replaced the distributor and bam problem solved...well now a couple months later the problem is coming back but so far it still only acts up when hot...Any ideas why this is happening?

there is not an msd spark box however the coil is msd and no I haven't pulled the codes I don't have a code reader and I am not really familiar with how to do the koeo and koer tests anyhow. There is no CE light tho in case that helps..and the engine runs great otherwise...

you can purchase, or go to a library and check out a chilton mustang manual it will help show you how to retrieving codes and how to do it with a scan tool or an analog voltmeter method and it has various troubleshooting methods for diagnosing problems. check out various manuals and buy your choice repair manuals have been one of the better tools i own.
