I have been having ingition trouble with my 67 302 coupe. It has a MSD ignition. 6AL box,Billet Distributor & Blaster 3 coil. The problem is I can start it but even if I only run the engine for 30 seconds it will not restart right after I shut it off. If I let it sit for a while it will start. I called MSD. They said It was either the coil or the pick up. I bought a new MSD Blaster 3 coil and checked the pick up per MSD intructions and it still will not restart immediatly after shutting it off. I also checked the ignition switch. Everone I asked is bewildered. Any Ideas?

I would start by checking power from the ignition switch and the starter solenoid, and making sure you have good clean connections. I had a similar problem. I had taken some wires off of my starter solenoid and then reinstalled them and the car wouldn't start. Thought I had screwed up the solenoid. Took it all back apart and cleaned everthing especially the grounds and it started up. Does MSD ignition require 12 volts to operate? I know on my car there is only 6 volts to the coil. I had to run 12 volts from the igniton switch down to the distributor when I did my petronix.

If you can't trace it to ignition, I would try looking at the starting circuit. Either a bad ground, solenoid or the starter itself may be shorting out.
