Illegal Window Tint

Is the window tint thing a moving violation in most states? I thought it was more of a kick in the balls if you get pulled over for something else.

I don't think it's a moving violation.

i heard a rumor if youre tint is too dark you wont pass inspection is that true?

I believe that's true from what I've seen people say. Depends on the inspector I guess. Anything not "right" with the car can cause it not to pass inspection.

NYS has a pretty strict tint restriction it is 75% which is basically nothing. And yes some shops are starting to impliment the policy with inspections.

I had 5% for a while but i kept getting tickets and the first was $50 and it went up $100 each time. I sold the car but i got one for $250 and it wasnt worth it.
