...with all the related threads but I'm still stumped. In the attached pic of the back of a gt40 intake, there are three vacuum lines...the left-most goes to the fpr, teh far right goes to the block on the fw but where does the one in the middle go? I can trace it back but loose it what looks like behind the drivers valve cover....?

Again, I'm sorry for this nagging ?

thanks guys and gals!

the middle one is the bigger one right? Pretty sure it goes up to the vacuum tree on the firewall

Yep...sorry, in the picture it looked like the middle but I guess it's actually the far right...the small one that doesn't go to the fpr (stay with me, I'll get it right in a minute!). ..and thanks for your help!

The third line comes over to the passenger side and connects to a vacuum connector. The connector should have about 3 or 4 vacuum lines. One goes to the egr and another one goes to the smog pump egr looking thing

that's what I was thinking but when I look, the end of the pigtail that goes into those three little canisters that you would think that line goes to has all of it's holes filled with dirt dobber "nests" so apparently they haven't been used in a while. If you notice in the "before" picture that I attached above it looks like it's headed down near the driver side head and it's only ~8-10" long. I know....I should have taken better pics!!!! :nono: but anyway.

I also realize this is a question that could have many variables so I greatly appreciate you all's help!

Background...I'm a novice and did a head swap (2nd in my life) and am now having idling issues (up and down between 750 and 1500-1800 RPM's, like when you have a big cam and haven't made it to the dyno for tuning and the engine is cold). That line is pulling a lot of vacuum so I was hoping that would take care of my issue...it may have always went to nowhere and just hung there but I'd prefer it to go to its intended destination.

yep...it connects to this vacuum block.

Excellent pic, Byrd. That's exactly what I needed. I noticed you are running a novi 1K. I have one that I'm about to replace my many-times rebuilt sn series with. Should I start a new thread or pm you to ask a couple of ?'s about it or can I ask in this thread (I'm new and don't want to p1ss off any mods)

thanks again to everyone that took time to assist!!! :nice:

Hey guys. Just wanted to give a quick update to all that assisted. I knew I was going to feel like an idiot when I found it. I just noticed a small vac line hanging behind my clutch ped. Guess where it went......boost/vac guage, and the other end to the middle line on the intake. Sorry to have bothered you all with such garbage.
