:SNSign: I knew I kept this username for a reason.

I have a 1983 Mustang notchback (4 banger / manual tranny). Well anyway I had the time to figure out what it needs to be a little more road worthy. Starting with the body. It hardly has any rust and has been stored for 10+ years but it did suffer some front end damage, it needs new front fenders and a bumper cover. The problem is that the front end, on the driver's side, has been push back about 3/4" BUT it's bent before the strut tower (right after the rad support (where the battery would be). The damage doesn't show much on the outside though. The ORGINAL paint is pretty good, a nice wax job would make the rest of the car look like new again. Oh and it has all the original chrome trim (great shape), the lights are new, even the plastic cowl isn't cracked.

The interior is mint but ugly as hell (blue and blue/white cloth seats), it does have a sunroof and the dash has wood trim.

The engine still runs (not that it matters, that paper weight will be replaced with a 1969 351W HO). I'm happy it's a manual so I don't have to worry about the pedal swap and enlarging a hole in the tranny tunnel.

My plan is to get it rolling and pass inspection which means:
- Fix body damage, primer front end
- SN95 spindle and brake swap up front
- 8.8 and disc brake swap in the rear
- all new rubber and hard brake lines (later model V8 routing for dual exhaust)
- new supsension parts...
- other little things like lights, etc...

Once it actually rolls (with the 4 banger, mind you) I will build up the 351 and look for a suitable 5 speed for it.

Yeah she needs a lot of love. I just wish it didn't have any front end damage... But they are starting to get rare so it's worth it. It's not like the car is bent out of shape though, suspension hasn't been touched at all.

I still have the Cougar for a daily which isn't too bad so I can take my time with the Mustang.

Now I have an excuse to buy a MIG welder
