I have a stock fox mid pipe that you can borrow, I'm in Temecula. I don't have any insight on a "place" but you might want to check in with the guys at www.lamustangclub.com

I know it's off topic, but what causes someone to have to smog in a test only station? Do you get some kind of violation that requires strick emissions testing? What is the difference between a regular smog station from a test only?

If you search in other car forums I'm pretty sure you can find a place that will do it for the right price.

If your car is 10 years and older, DMV sends you a notice for a test only station when it's time to renew your reg. On a test only station, you have to pass the sniffer test, visual (mecanical) test and gas cap test. Once you get a Smog request for test only station, you will have it for the rest of your cars' life

not true. a test only smog test is selected randomly from a group of cars that are high profile failures. i know that a lot of the v6 4Runners, MR2s, civics, mustangs, and other cars that fail smog a lot get sent test only smog renewals. the 4runners because they have an issue with teh TPS and timing.

the civics and mustangs get sent because the state knows they are illegaly modified a lot. the test only stations have to fail a certain percentage of cars a year. they also do not do repairs, and they dont make any extra money for passing a car versus failing it. also once you are a test only, you are not a permanent test only. also test onlys are only sent out in Enhanced smog areas.

I have been smogging my 88LX for the last 8 years at a "test only" (not by choice) and the car passes with flying colors. Every 2 years it is the same thing, I can't wait for the day that I can Smog my car at a reg. smog station (non test only)
