thank you.

P.S. what i really want is the borla catback.BUT , lack of $$$ :bang:

Mmmm packs. I love my Packs.

I still feel SLP belongs on F-bodies, and even then they sounded like crap.

I dont like how they sound on camaros either. However, I love my SLP its AMAZING =)

Newbie143 I would recommend that you get the magnapacks though. As you want LOUD but not NOISY. My SLP Loudmouth is the closest exhaust i've heard to retro stangs but with my X pipe I can see why people say/think they are raspy. I WOULD prefer an H-pipe but haven't sold my X yet. I think since the SLP is real loud and maybe a bit "noisy" ....i guess? ...I think you should get the magnapacks instead.

I will say however that the magnapack tips look like **** :notnice: They are very thin walled and dont angle enough at all. SLP quality is unmatched and installation is very easy.

People on this board are either FOR or AGAINST SLP for one reason or another, there is no inbetween. So you either love it or hate it. So its up to you on which side you stand, because if you're going to be paying $300+ for a cat-back, you should love it.

My vote is for Magnaflow. I love mine, they subtle at idle, but scream loud as hell when u jump on it. I think they are a little cheaper than the SLP.
well actually the SLP's are about $359 while the Magnapacks are around $ 459
so the SLP loudmouth's are cheaper by $100. so i dont know what to do now  I like the SLP , i think they sound nice. its just that the pipes arent in ONE piece Right? i mean they have like some kind of connections and stuff!!!? are they easy to instal ?

How can you have lound but not noisy, is that like hot but cold

As for the exhausts, well I doubt there will really be that much difference once their on the car as you won't have the other to compare it too.

I've downloaded a few *.wav files with both in the past running with an o/h H.

The Magna sounded slightly deeper, but I preferred the SLP it just sounded more classic push rod to me. (As in very much how the Bandit's 77 TA sounds in Smokey and the Bandit). Very nice :nice:

super easy to install, did my in less than an hour, and cobra2798 said his magnapacks scream when he jumps on it, theres no way its as loud as the SLP loudmouth with h pipe(not cats), thats what on my car, its probably one of the loudest cars around, yet, you can still drive it quitly, kinda, haha, i got my loudmouth for 363 shipped of ebay...

Just so you know if you buy the pipes from www.partshopper.com with the coupon, the Magnapacks are only $360 I believe-

Magnaflow has a minimum advertised price program, so retailers can not advertise below a certain price-

If you call partshopper, they would be more then happy to negotiate off of the price they have the part advertised at-

i think i made my mind. Both SLP and magnapacks are almost the same price. I know the SLP is kinda louder. so regarding Quality, which of those has a better rep. quality wise. I will go with THAT one.
so which one is it?
thank you all for being patient with me :hail2:

Packs aren't loud? :rlaugh:

No way. They are civial at idle but scream at WOT. I love them.

Someone did a dB reading on several exhaust and the packs was 2dB less then SLPs.

Both the Magnaflow Magnapack cat-back and SLP loudmouths make the same HP I believe. And also are the 2 cat backs that make the most hp for our cars (read that somewhere). The SLP X and Magnaflow X are also the most HP producing midpipes. So you are safe with whichever you go with.

SLP's exhaust will sound more retro like. ESPECIALLY at the low RPMs like around turns. That gargling...mmm  (and will sound "red-neck truck-like" to some, but ingore those people, they dont know what they are talking about, and are usually biased towards SLP because they were originally a company making exhaust only for camaros)

and the Magnapacks will be a bit more beefy sounding and unique. My friend has the Magnapacks and I like the sound of my SLP much better and I think his Magnaflow tips BLOW :notnice: compared to my SLP
