So I'm at work today and one of the guys I work with comes in and tells me that my tire is super flat. So I run outside and the sidewall looks pretty rough and it's way flat. So I threw on the spare and drove over to Bennett. We pulled the tire off the rim and sure enough the inside of the sidewall is totally toast. So I'm SO MAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My tires have almost 11000 kms on them and they aren't very worn. So now the question is should I just order up one new tire? Or I should I get two and if I get two should I get some 555R's or just stick with the 555's?

That blows man. You should be able to get away with buying just one new 555. You really don't have many km's on your other 3. If you want you could go with the DR's. I've made about fifty passes at the track this year with smokey burnouts on every run at 18psi and my 555r's have held up surprisingly well. Top that with daily driving and they've done pretty good I'd say. Either way you'll be fine.

Graham, you don't need drag radials.

Get a new 555, and call it a day. Wait until you "need" the DR's instead of wasting them daily driving on them when you really don't need them.

I think I'll probably just call Matt on Tuesday and order up a new one, hopefully he has one in stock that can be sent out right away for me. Even though gas is retarded I still wanna drive my car!

drag radials are a huge waste of money IMO... they are 1/2 way between a slick and a street tire, so they are not as good as either..

run street tires on the street.. and buy a set of slicks for the track

russ runs a set of 8.5(i think) M/T's at the track and dosnt spin them.. wich are really cheap.. youd need a set of 315 nittos to match that traction, and even then i bet he would spin them not to mention they would be 4x the price

Well try to tell me that next year. I don't think slicks on DD would work too well.

i dont think drag radials are going to work too well on it either

seirously for the little amount that you drive it.. get a set of 10.5 M/T's and you'll be a happy man

For the saem reason it makes sense to get DR's. They'll last him about 3-4 years and he'll at least have some decent attempt at traction when he needs it.

I am actually looking into the new Nitto's and the Hankooks I think. They are both supposed to be made from DR compounds but with a DOT road racing tread pattern.

Well at least the Nittos for the front anyway, DR for the rear for sure.

Just get one new tire, if you're worried about having uneven tread depths, just let someone with an open diff do a short burnout with the new one...

I already ordered the new tire and I'm not worried about trend depth cause my tires have 11,000 km on them and I hardly ever do anything that would reduce tread! lol!

Screw you Russ!!! I drive my car hard sometimes but I just don't sit around and do burnouts and spin my tires at every light, etc. You were there when I raced Mike and stuff! And I think I'm gonna head up to SIR at the end of the month and if I have my new tire by the 20th it sounds like there is an autocross thing out in Lumsden worth checking out! So there!
