. Although you shouldnt have been behind the wheel regardless. Just take it as a life lesson, and move on. Human life > car.

I have been away and came home today and the first thing i did was jump on Stangnet to see the results of your blower install
I'm happy your ok. Its just a car and easily fixed...now you can get a Saleen front bumber and hood![]()
Don't worry insurance won't go up too much and if it does you can do what i do...put it in a girls name![]()

When my back bumper got hit recently (and the tailpipe nicked), the body shop told me they would put the car back the way it was, including aftermarket exhaust, so just make sure when you get the estimate, you let them know which parts are aftermarket, and what they cost to replace (it wasn't built into their computer system to figure cost on non-OE parts).AmBo said:Now I just hope the bodyshop does a good job.
I don't think the bodyshop will do aftermarket pieces. How do I request that?![]()
You can talk to the guys at the body shop and tell them what you want...they will get X amount of dollars from insurance co and then they apply that towards the work they do. You might have to pay alittle out of pocket to cover the difference in aftermarket parts but it won't be much since Ford parts are not exactly cheap.AmBo said:Well I just spoke to my allstate agent and I have accident protection! I know him personally and he put it on my plan 16 days ago. That means NO RATE INCREASE!! This might not be so bad afterall!![]()

oh didn't even think of that! Ford parts make it even easier...When my hood split and was covered by recall i just told the body shop manager i wanted the Cobra R instead of the new Stock hood and just had to pay the $80 difference between the 2 hoods from Ford.AmBo said:I'll have to give them a call first thing in the morning. Would love an 03 front bumper and hood instead of the GT.
AmBo said:It could have been a LOT worse. I am very thankful my first accident (and hopefully my last) wasnt so serious. I cant imagine hitting something at a high speed. my gawd
im going to be talking to the body shop sometime soon hopefully. ill let you know what he says about the 03 parts and such.
DropTopPony said:You definately don't want to be in a high speed accident! Its been 1.5 years since my head on collision on I95 and i still have to go to therapy 2 times a week for my herniated disks in my back...its no picnic. I'm thankful i was driving a Lexus and not my Mustang at the time or i may have not walked out of that one.
00BlkStangGT said:The difference in prices for the two bumpers if only like 20 bucks. I checked with my Ford dealership about it and they were both around $420-440. Not a huge difference. I got hit in the front and I'm having the 03 cobra bumper put on.
AmBo said:Yea, I just checked with Ford and the difference for the GT hood/bumper and the 03 Cobra/Bumper is $100. Then I'll also have to buy the 03 fog housings and such, but whatever. It's such a more badass look than the GT front. Now I'll have to get the rear-bumper to match and of course fill in the COBRA![]()
00BlkStangGT said:Hey Ambo, is that $100 difference for the hood and bumper together?
