i just got back from dropping someone off at their house(thats a whole different story all together) and when i left their house i decided to get on it. i hit all my shifts perfectly however when i get into second gear my tire broke loose...yes just one..on my passengers side.

do i have a v6 with a gt engine?

(KT this is when u chime in and tell me about my shocks and struts :P)

idk what to say i mean if my suspension was so bad wouldnt they both break loose? why would one stick

it was the wierdest sensation i cant even describe to u guys/gals what it felt like

If you are going aroung a corner when they brake loose it is common to get one wheel peel. If you are moving in a straight line they should both break loose. How many miles on the rear end?

all 87k :)

at the time it happened i was going in a straight line

:stupid:

But if the rear end does it ALL the time, the clutches are prolly gone. If that's the case, you should just get a whole new differential and axles. Because a shop would probably charge you $200 to install the new clutches. And if you got the extra cash, you might as well make your rear end stronger. 31 spline moser axles baby :nice:

the 200 id save from bringing it to a shop could almost cover the cost of those 31 splines...260 bucks for ford racing 31 spines :)..idk tho ford racing is good but i like the sound of moser lol

If you don't want to do a clutch pack rebuild, I do have a 28 spline open diff with a mini-spool in it that I will let go for cheap :)

It's pretty easy to do the clutches in the rear. I just did the ones in my buddy's Cougar, and it only took about two hours, including throwing some 4.10s in. If you've got a nice tall set of jackstands, a full socket set, and a torque wrench, you can do it yourself.

the only thing is. how imperative is it that i replace it IF it has gone bad?

its becomming the winter time so its not gunna be seeing a lot of road until next spring

im not going to the track or anything..and i dont street race

is it okay for me to let it go for the time being (assuming its bad)?

the famous question: "what could possibly happen?"

i was doing a burnout contest in my stupid days of first having the car against a Z21, and my bro (behind me in his T-Supra) said i was doing a one legged. I was like wah?? its got limited slip!! but 3 weeks later did another and it layed down two even lines. Still does now w/ 110k on the clock
