Hey guys, I have a 1996 Mustang GT equipped with the factory alarm system as well as the smartkey imobilizer option. I have been having problems starting my car recently and all of the usual suspects have been ruled out because it isnt my battery, starter, alternater or fuel pump - the reason why I think it has to do with my imobilizer is that everything works normaly up until I turn my key and then all of the power gets cut to everything, fans, stereo, headlights etc but there is no clicking or anything coming from the starter - absolutely no sound. Also the car does turn on aslong as i dont arm the security (which means I can never lock my doors...kind of makes the car useless to me)
So yeah have any of you heard of the chip inside of smart keys dying or losing signal etc? If it does happen i will go in and replace my keys but I want to make sure it is a problem and it isnt something else - thanks guys
