In Search of... Rack and Pinion Info

i don't see a lot of difference between the cavalier rack and the intrepid rack, they could be almost identical, although if i were to see the two of them side by side i'm sure i would find quite a few differences. i'm guessing it'll be mostly dimensional.

ok well just throwing ideas out there,, so if I wanted to find out the total travel for a rack I do this how,, jack the car up and measure what. wheel travel from ful left to full right? or do I need to be able to see the rack and measure there.

Hey Hakan, the square section bits that the tie rods bolt to, are they welded into the bar, or did you start with some square section bar and machine it round??
Thanks
Ben

Nothing is welded, it´s made of a square bar that was machined.

I made a similar bar today for a ´65 Mustang convertible that I am putting a manual version of the r&p on. Will add pics at my website showing more of it later on.

Sorry if this is repeat info.

Emailed the guys a couple of days ago and...

"We are still working on which headers will and will not fit - but it will fit with some."

"The rack we are using is a power rack, but it is internally lubricated, so
you can run it manually. Cost looks like it will be between $1K and
$1200 -depending on if you want a steering column with it. If you have any other questions, feel free to contact us!"

"...Flaming river tilt column."
