Guys the easiest form of theft deterrant, get yourself a quick-release hub with a Momo or whatever steering wheel.

How the hell will they get off with your car if they can't turn the damn wheels. It would be pretty easy to track your car down, just walk in a straight line from where you parked it.

Didn't want to give to much away but your totally right. Even with the NGS, you have to wait 10 mins. to get the car started. No thief will waste that kind of time stealing a car.

They would also have to bust the steering column and have the key in the run position.

Even with pats, I have an alarm in my mustang. I love the alarm feature where it locks the doors after 30 seconds. It also keeps the theives away from my V1.

Same here. After my wife forgot to lock our mini-van a few times I installed an alarm on the Mustang so the odd time she takes it, if she forgets to lock it, the alarm will.

The factory system is good enough to prevent the average theif. (or the pro theif ie repo man) If they don't have a tow truck. DO NOT get a remote start system they make your car cake to get. Also if someone wants the car they will get it. If you want an alarm to prevent vandalism/smash and grab I can understand however like was mention do you pay attention to car alarms anymore? Also as a former repoman trust me noone gives a second look when you back up to a car and take it with the alarm going off. Heck I've done it in peoples backyard in the middle of the night and had no issues about it.

Well, I was more looking into an alarm for "smash and grab" protection. What would you guys suggest? I understand if they want my car, they could flatbed it. But I just want the damn kids to stop leaning on my car when I come out of the mall! "It's not your car! Get off it!"

if you want an actual alarm on top of your Ford PATS security, just pick up a Viper or Python or whatever DEI is calling their alarms now. They won't cost a ton and you'll be able to hear when the car is being messed with.

Just don't make it too sensitive. Every time thru the mall parking garage I set off 50 car alarms with my exhaust. Now 50 people go back to their cars wondering who 'messed with their ride' when it makes that different disarm beep cause they thought the sens knob should be jacked to the right.
