independent rear anyone?

i'm buying a 94 cobra tommorow and trying to figure out what parts to swap over before selling my 95. i just built up a 31 spline 373 rear end, but i really want to put an irs under my next car. i know about the durability issues but don't care cuz i don't drag race, my question is can i fit 17x10.5 wheels in the back, i thought the irs is a bit wider and won't fit it. also will my frpp alum drive shaft fit it, i know my exhaust won't. if anyone has done this swap i am curious as to the diff in handling, is it worth it. i'll be doing coilovers all the way around and the rear steer kit and the upgraded rear cover blah blah blah. oh yeah anyone lookin for a 95 cobra hardtop/vert prolly around $9k

I've seen 10.5's on the back of a '03 Cobra. I don't know how much was modified, however, I did see the IRS and 10.5" wheels.

Ford's biggest mistake = Mustangs equipped with IRS.

I always thought it was the 4 cyl and v6 engines in the mustangs.

At any rate, the 2007 Cobra supposedly has a solid rear again.

theres plenty of 03/04 cobras with 10.5 rims in the rear. I would check out svtperformance.com to see if any modifications are needed.

If Ford didn't make V6 'stangs, they wouldn't have sold nearly enough and would have made the same decision to kill it off long ago, just like the Camero, Firebird, GTO (I give it another 12 months).
