has any one out there ever take the stock 14lb injectors and replace them with the 19lb injectors from a 5.0? the car in question is a 1987 2.3 with a very ported head assembly which seems to run way to lean in high rpm which is where it is during racing in the scca.

The stock 14 lb injectors are maxed out at I think 150hp. So if your pushing that or more, you may need a set of 19lbers. Also, you will need the MAF sensor that is matched for the GT's 19lb injectors. I believe the sensor should be a tab bit newer like off a 94-95 GT but it's been a long time. Here is a link to a guy whos done this before at the bottom and races a 93 LX 2.3L DIS I believe. If you deside to go this way, let me know because I got a MAF and 19lb injectors around here somewheres.

Thats right, they didn't go to MAF until the DIS 2.3Ls. I've never messed with SD cars so I'm not really sure on that one. I know the MAF sensors are calibrated for the injectors they are using and I'm guessing the MAP sensors are the same.

well just to update you guys with the S/D setup, the 19lb injectors worked great,WOW! the car never pulled like this,great high rpm power.she pulled out of the corners just like everyone else. finally out ran the honda civics and kepted up with the SM class. GREAT RESULTS
