My buddy is building a 331 stroker motor for his fox. He is putting a set of TFS Twisted Wedge heas on it with just a Comp Polymers upper and a 65mm TB on it. It will have a TFS stage 1 cam as well. Flat top pistons for low compression too. Also some TFS 1.6 RR. Now we were wondering what size injector to use with it? We were thinking 30# injectors. Oh yeah it has a walbro 190 fuel pump too. Are 30's to much injector for it? What would you guys put in it? Or if you have a similar set up what do you have in it, and how does it run?

Thanks,
Dave

24's or 30's are fine. Mine is a 325 stroker and I have 24's. 331 is pretty much the same thing but I got a great deal on my injectors with matching Pro-M meter so I could not pass it up. 24's are much more street freindly and tuneable at idle but either will work just fine. If he is planning on more power adders go with the 30's. Just remember that the most important thing is getting a GOOD meter that is calibrated to the injectors!

C&L has the largest mass air meter market for the fuel injected 5.0. I highly doubt they blow.

I have just heard that guys have problems with them. That would make sence why they are so cheap. Just what I have heard.

I would go with the 24's. I have a C&L and have never had any problems with it, yet i'm sure there are a dozen guys who have had problems with them on this site. Its seems to be a hit or miss thing, the big problem is that i know guys who have had problems with pro-m meters....ok what i'm trying to say is it could run like crap with either meter..

Get a Pro-M meter, pay the extra money, you get what you pay for.

I would strongly suggest getting that stock lower ported, contact TMOSS, otherwise it's going to really be a bottleneck.

I had absolultly no issues with the C&L 76mm MAF. I had the 19's on it and then got 24's so I did the 24# sample tube. People have issues with the Pro-M more sometimes. It's hard to say. A MAF is a rather simple device that really can't be "off" weather it's the stock electronics or pro-m's, I think it's hard the get the calibration right on every car. There is a device sold that you put in that allows you to tune the MAF, and I've hear people swear by them. Honestly, I would either get a calibration device or I would get a programmed ECU.

BTW: I'm selling my C&L and 24# injectors, along with Holley 255lph fuel pump and Kirban regulator, make me an offer if interested.

$uperstang What does you car run in the 1/4 mile if you dont mind me asking? Because my friend will have a similar set up, and I was curious how fast it will be.

Thanks,
Dave

I am swapping to carbureted, no need for them. The MAF uses your stock electronics, it's just a housing. The injectors I am not sure about the miles/age on them, I got them used, but they worked fine and injectors so rarley go bad, they can be damaged, which they are not. Injectors sell new for about $220-240, the MAF new was about $180 with the tube that goes to the TB. I'd sell the MAF+Tube+Injectors for $210 shipped.

No thanks. There is a guy on Corral now selling 24# injectors and the 76mm MAF for $120 shipped. I can do $170 shipped for the MAFS+Tube+24# Injectors tonight. If you want to take that give me your pay pal and I will send you the money tonight. Let me know.

I've had no issues with my C&L.

Personally, I would stay away from the Comp intake on smaller motors. Short runners hurt the low end too much. I love it on the stroked 351w though. And, yes I did use it on the 302, so my opinion is somewhat valid.

just my opinion

That was the reason I picked up the intake. I was disappointed to find that I had no power until 3,500-4,000 rpm. After that it was great though. Just depends on what you want to do I guess.

what is this tuning device your refering too?? is this something for any maf or just pro-m's and how does it work?/ is this something more for guys who have all kinds of tuning equipment or is it something basic anyone could use? just curious as i don't recall seeing that mentioned much in here, especially with all the maf posts..

It just recalibrates the MAFS to match the injectors. The other thing he is talking about I think is the PMS.
