i just got my AOD transmission back from being rebuilt and i have been trying to install it but have ran into alot of problems....the shop told me that they changed the casing on it from another AOD and it also has a new torque converter.....we cant get the transmission to go all the way up to the motor it just doesn't fit right and the motor wont turn w/this transmission my guess is the tq converter is a little too big but im not sure im calling the shop in the morning but i want to get an idea of what it could be before i call them any ideas would be great

might want to check and see if the tq convertor is seated all the way inside the front pump. might have to keep turning it so it seats all the way in, that will cause it to not line up.

Yep, exactly what he said. The converter has to spline onto a few sets of splines on the tranny, you may have only engaged 1 set of splines so far. Spin the converter while pushing it in slighly. You should feel it fall into place.

Best way to do an AOD is to sit it up with the tailshaft pointing down. Place the converter on the shaft and spin. You will feel it lock in. Spin some more just to be sure. The converter should be recessed a little from the bell housing
